School Lunches

At St. Edmund's, you have the choice of our delicious schools dinners or you can provide your child with a nutritional packed lunch. 

School Dinners

Our healthy lunch menu provides your child with lots of choice every lunchtime and ensures that they have their preferred choice. Each day, your child can choose a meal and a dessert from one of the the following food stations:

Pasta Point - from pasta bows and twirls to spaghetti or rice, served with a variety of sauces. 

Sandwich Station - offering a range of bread rolls and wraps with a choice of fillings.

Cook's Choice - serving popular and traditional dishes including; fish dishes, curry with rice and homemade pizza.

We encourage our children to select salad and fruit from our salad bar and they are supported by Year 6 buddies to do this.

As all our food is ordered through Manchester Fayre in advance, we require 2 weeks notice in writing for your child to change to packed lunches from a school dinner. For more information about the Manchester Fayre lunch options please click on the link below:

How to Qualify for Free School Meals

To qualify for free school meals a child must:

  • Live in the area covered by Manchester City Council (they may go to school in another area)

  • Be aged up to 16, or over 16 if they are still at school full-time (they do not qualify if they go to sixth-form.)

  • If they go to nursery part-time, their session must go from before lunch to after lunch.

The child's parent must be:

Primary responsible for that child, receiving the Child Benefit for example and be getting a qualifying benefit or credit.
