Our geography curriculum has been specifically tailored to meet the unique context of our school. It is designed to be broad and balanced, providing all pupils with the opportunity to master their learning and deepen their knowledge, making sense and giving purpose as to why we learn about geography. Teachers will provide pupils with challenging big questions about geography, which will help them change and transform our society, putting their faith into action.
At St. Edmund’s we believe that Geography helps to promote and answer questions about the natural and human worlds, encouraging children to develop a greater understanding of their world and their place in it. We recognise that the location of our city and our local respective communities are a vital resource to be investigated, to encourage curiosity and inspire pupils to understand how human and physical geographic features are continually changing around them.
